Ya, I feel like a plonker. I assure you I have the admin password correct as per my install process - I save all my credentials in keepass.
After everything setup ok. I started setting up the 'forums' using ACP and noticed I was auto logged in to the actual forum as Admin. (Biggles) and so would refresh every now and then to see how it looks. Then I logged out. Couldn't log back in!! password issue - I have it stored in keepass as all my passwords I work on, as soon as i create I put them there (i know wot yer thinkin!) ne way.
Now the thing is also, I am on a shared IP with Namecheap, and took me a while to go through the initial Database Hostname DSN stuff to work...well, eventually success but the SMTP I left blank: username and password, as I thought it would be ok without --- so there's part of the dilemma...
I am not getting the 'forgot password' email because apparently I should have setup SMTP with authentication for the forum@<my domain> notifications address. (during install)
So, wondering if via my FTP I can do any changes to the PHP scripts to then update the stored details in the database MariaDB?
I certainly need to modify forum@<mydomain> (the SMTP notifications to user address) so that it has the password and username stored, at least then I can get my Biggles (admin) account password reset. I did notice in ACP thSMTP detail could be updated but of course I have lost access. So FTP and modifying PHPs or cpanel is all I can operate through.
Any help appreciated!
