Lol, no, it is not actually necessary. If the poster's profile is hidden, and the post content is hidden, and there is no message reminding you that "This was posted by **** who is on your ignore list", all you will see is a blue background a few pixels high with rounded corners, between the other posts. It's barely noticeable and nobody will mind.
If you really want to totally hide any trace of the ignored posts you can do that, but it will require templates edits too.![:)]( "Smile")
